In addition, we inform you below about the third-party components used by us for optimization purposes as well as to increase the quality of use, insofar as third parties process data through this, again under their own responsibility.

Our privacy policy is structured as follows:

II. Rights of users and data subjects

With regard to the data processing described in more detail below, the users and data subjects have the right

  • to confirmation as to whether data concerning them is being processed, to information about the data processed, to further information about the data processing and to copies of the data (cf. also Art. 15 DSGVO);
  • to rectification or completion of incorrect or incomplete data (cf. also Art. 16 DSGVO);

However, this obligation does not exist insofar as this notification is impossible or involves a disproportionate effort. Notwithstanding the above, the user has a right to information about these recipients.

Also, according to Art. 21 DSGVO, users and data subjects have the right to object to the future processing of data concerning them, provided that the data is processed by the provider in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) DSGVO. In particular, an objection to data processing for the purpose of direct marketing is admissible.

III. Information on data processing

Your data processed when using our website will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of the storage is no longer applicable, the deletion of the data does not conflict with any legal retention obligations and no other information is provided below regarding individual processing procedures.

server data

For technical reasons, in particular to ensure a secure and stable Internet presence, data is transmitted by your Internet browser to us or to our web space provider. With these so-called server log files, among other things, the type and version of your Internet browser, the operating system, the website from which you have accessed our Internet presence (referrer URL), the website(s) of our Internet presence that you visit, the date and time of the respective access as well as the IP address of the Internet connection from which the use of our Internet presence takes place are collected.

This data collected in this way is stored temporarily, but not together with other data from you.

This storage takes place on the legal basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) DSGVO. Our legitimate interest lies in the improvement, stability, functionality and security of our website.

The data will be deleted again after seven days at the latest, unless further storage for evidence purposes is required. Otherwise, all or part of the data is exempt from deletion until an incident is finally resolved.

cookies

a) Session cookies/session cookies

We use so-called cookies with our website. Cookies are small text files or other storage technologies that are placed and stored on your terminal device by the Internet browser you use. Through these cookies, certain information from you, such as your browser or location data or your IP address, is processed to an individual extent.

This processing makes our website more user-friendly, effective and secure, as the processing enables, for example, the reproduction of our website in different languages or the offer of a shopping cart function.

The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit b.) DSGVO, insofar as these cookies data are processed for the purpose of initiating or executing a contract.

If the processing does not serve the contract initiation or contract execution, our legitimate interest lies in the improvement of the functionality of our website. The legal basis is then Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) DSGVO.

When you close your Internet browser, these session cookies are deleted.

b) Third-party cookies

Where applicable, cookies from partner companies with which we cooperate for the purpose of advertising, analysis or functionalities of our website are also used with our website.

For details on this, in particular on the purposes and legal basis for the processing of such third-party cookies, please refer to the information below.

c) Removal option

You can prevent or restrict the installation of cookies by setting your Internet browser. Likewise, you can delete already stored cookies at any time. However, the steps and measures required for this depend on your specific Internet browser used. If you have any questions, please use the help function or documentation of your Internet browser or contact its manufacturer or support. In the case of so-called Flash cookies, however, processing cannot be prevented via the browser settings. Instead, you must change the settings of your Flash player. The steps and measures required for this also depend on the specific Flash player you use. Therefore, if you have any questions, please also use the help function or documentation of your Flash player or contact the manufacturer or user support.

If you prevent or restrict the installation of cookies, however, this may mean that not all functions of our website can be fully used.

Newsletter

With the following notes we inform you about the contents of our newsletter as well as the registration, dispatch and statistical evaluation procedure and your rights of objection. By subscribing to our newsletter, you agree to receive it and to the procedures described.

Content of the newsletter: we send newsletters, e-mails and other electronic notifications with promotional information (hereinafter: “newsletter”) only with the consent of the recipient or a legal permission. For this purpose, it is necessary to provide the e-mail address. Insofar as in the context of a registration for the newsletter its contents are specifically circumscribed, they are decisive for the consent of the users.

Double opt-in and logging: the registration to my newsletter is done in a so-called double opt-in process. That is, you will receive an email with a confirmation link after registration: By clicking on this link, you confirm that you would like to receive my newsletter. This confirmation is necessary so that no one can register with foreign e-mail addresses. The registration is logged in order to be able to prove the registration process according to the legal requirements. This includes the storage of the registration and confirmation time as well as your IP address. Likewise, changes to your data stored with the shipping service provider are logged.

Germany: The dispatch of the newsletter and the performance measurement associated with it is based on the consent of the recipients in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a, Art. 7 DSGVO in conjunction with § 7 para. 2 No. 3 UWG or on the basis of the legal permission in accordance with § 7 para. 3 UWG.

The logging of the registration process is based on our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. Our interest is directed towards the use of a user-friendly as well as secure newsletter system that serves our business interests as well as meets the expectations of users and further allows us to prove consent.

Cancellation and revocation: You can cancel the receipt of our newsletter at any time, i.e. revoke your consents. You will find a link to unsubscribe at the bottom of each newsletter. We may store unsubscribed email addresses for up to three years based on our legitimate interest to be able to prove consent formerly given. The processing of this data is limited to the purpose of a possible defense against claims. An individual request for deletion is possible at any time, provided that the former existence of consent is confirmed at the same time.

Newsletter delivery service provider

The newsletter is sent using the mailing service provider MailPoet (by Wysija SARL, 6 rue Dieudé, 13006 Marseille, France). You can view the privacy policy of the mailing service provider here: docs.mailpoet.com. The shipping service provider is used on the basis of our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO and a contract processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 para. 3 p. 1 DSGVO.

The dispatch service provider may use the data of the recipients in pseudonymous form, i.e. without assignment to a user, to optimize or improve its own services, e.g. for the technical optimization of the dispatch and the presentation of the newsletters or for statistical purposes. However, the dispatch service provider does not use the data of my newsletter recipients to write to them itself or to pass on the data to third parties.

Newsletter Success Measurement

The newsletters contain a so-called “web-beacon”, i.e. a pixel-sized file that is retrieved from my server or, if I use a shipping service provider, from their server when the newsletter is opened. As part of this retrieval, technical information such as information about the browser and your system and also your IP address and the time of retrieval are initially collected.

This information is used for the technical improvement of the services based on the technical data or the target groups and their reading behavior based on their retrieval locations (which can be determined with the help of the IP address) or the access times. Statistical surveys also include determining whether newsletters are opened, when they are opened and which links are clicked. By subscribing, you agree to this statistical collection. For technical reasons, this information can be assigned to individual newsletter recipients. However, it is neither my intention nor, if used, that of the dispatch service provider to observe individual users. The evaluations serve me rather to recognize the reading habits of my users and to adapt my contents to them or to send different contents according to the interests of my users.

Contact requests / contact option

If you contact us via contact form or e-mail, the data you provide in the process will be used to process your request. The provision of the data is necessary for processing and answering your request – without their provision, we can not answer your request or at best limited.

The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b) DSGVO.

Your data will be deleted, provided that your request has been answered conclusively and the deletion does not conflict with any statutory retention obligations, such as in the case of any subsequent contract processing.

Link social media via graphic or text link

We also promote presences on the social networks listed below on our website. The integration takes place thereby via a linked graphic of the respective network. Through the use of this linked graphic, it is prevented that when calling a website that has a social media application, it automatically comes to a connection to the respective server of the social network to display a graphic of the respective network itself. Only by clicking on the corresponding graphic will the user be redirected to the service of the respective social network.

After the user has been redirected, information about the user is collected by the respective network. In this regard, it cannot be ruled out that processing of the data thus collected takes place in the USA.

This is initially data such as IP address, date, time and page visited. If the user is logged into his user account of the respective network during this time, the network operator may be able to assign the collected information of the specific visit of the user to the personal account of the user. If the user interacts via a “Share” button of the respective network, this information can be stored in the user’s personal user account and may be published. If the user wants to prevent the collected information from being directly assigned to his user account, he must log out before clicking on the graphic. In addition, there is the possibility to configure the respective user account accordingly.

Google Analytics

In our website we use Google Analytics. This is a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, hereinafter referred to as “Google”.

The Google Analytics service is used to analyze the usage behavior of our website. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) DSGVO. Our legitimate interest lies in the analysis, optimization and economic operation of our website.

Use and user-related information, such as IP address, location, time or frequency of visits to our website, is transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, we use Google Analytics with the so-called anonymization function. Through this function, Google shortens the IP address already within the EU or the EEA.

The data collected in this way is in turn used by Google to provide us with an evaluation of the visit to our website and the usage activities there. Also, this data may be used to provide other services related to the use of our website and the use of the Internet.

Google states that it does not associate your IP address with any other data. In addition, Google keeps

https://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/partners

further information on data protection law is available for you, for example, also on the possibilities of preventing data use.

In addition, Google offers at

https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de

a so-called deactivation add-on along with further information on this. This add-on can be installed with the most common Internet browsers and offers you further control over the data that Google collects when you call up our website. The add-on tells the JavaScript (ga.js) of Google Analytics that information about the visit to our website should not be transmitted to Google Analytics. However, this does not prevent information from being transmitted to us or to other web analytics services. Whether and which other web analytics services are used by us, you will of course also find out in this privacy policy.

Jetpack – WordPress Stats

In our website we use Jetpack with the extension “WordPress Stats”. This is a web analytics service provided by Automattic Inc, 132 Hawthorne Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, hereinafter only referred to as “Automattic”.

The Jetpack – WordPress Stats service is used to analyze the usage behavior of our website. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) DSGVO. Our legitimate interest lies in the analysis, optimization and economic operation of our website.

To analyze usage behavior, Jetpack – WordPress Stats stores cookies via your Internet browser on your terminal device.

During processing, your IP address, the website(s) of our website that you visit, the website from which you accessed our website (referrer URL), the time you spend on our website, and the frequency with which you access one of our websites are recorded. The data collected in the process is stored on an Automattic server in the USA. However, your IP address is anonymized immediately after processing and before it is stored.

If you do not agree with this processing, you have the option to prevent the storage of the cookie by a setting in your Internet browser. More information on this can be found above under “Cookies”.

Google Fonts

In our website we use Google Fonts to display external fonts. This is a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, hereinafter referred to only as “Google”.

To enable the display of certain fonts on our website, a connection is established to the Google server in the USA when our website is called up.

The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) DSGVO. Our legitimate interest lies in the optimization and economic operation of our website.

Through the connection to Google established when you call up our Internet presence, Google can determine from which website your request was sent and to which IP address the display of the font is to be transmitted.

Google offers at

https://adssettings.google.com/authenticated

https://policies.google.com/privacy

further information on, and in particular, how to stop the use of the data.

YouTube

In our website we use YouTube. This is a video portal of YouTube LLC, 901 Cherry Ave, 94066 San Bruno, CA, USA, hereinafter referred to only as “YouTube”.

YouTube is a subsidiary of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, hereinafter referred to only as “Google”.

We use YouTube in connection with the “Enhanced Privacy Mode” function to show you videos. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) DSGVO. Our legitimate interest lies in improving the quality of our website. According to information from YouTube, the “Enhanced Privacy Mode” function means that the data described in more detail below is only transmitted to the YouTube server if you actually start a video.

Without this “Enhanced Privacy”, a connection to YouTube’s server in the USA is established as soon as you call up one of our Internet pages on which a YouTube video is embedded.

This connection is necessary in order to be able to display the respective video on our Internet site via your Internet browser. In the course of this, YouTube will at least record and process your IP address, the date together with the time as well as the Internet page you visited. In addition, a connection to the advertising network “DoubleClick” of Google is established.

If you are logged into YouTube at the same time, YouTube will assign the connection information to your YouTube account. If you want to prevent this, you must either log out of YouTube before visiting our website or make the appropriate settings in your YouTube user account.

For the purpose of functionality as well as for the analysis of user behavior, YouTube permanently stores cookies via your Internet browser on your terminal device. If you do not agree with this processing, you have the option to prevent the storage of cookies by a setting in your Internet browser. You can find more information on this above under “Cookies”.
